 Nie minął nawet rok a już mam dla Was kolejny wpis:)

 Dziś przyjrzymy się efektom pracy opiekunów niedźwiedzi z Poznańskiego Zoo, autorką zdjęć jest Maja, filmy są dziełem Działu Dydaktycznego. Opisane wzbogacenia można oczywiście stosować u innych gatunków. 

1. Wąska rura, nagrodę blokują umieszczone poziomo patyki. 

2. Umocniona dziura w ziemi, niedźwiedź musi wydłubać z niej pokarm, dla utrudnienia można ją zakryć lub zatkać.

3. Klasyczny poświąteczny enrichment.

4. Kula z otworami na karmę, zabezpieczona łańcuchem aby niedźwiedzie nie stoczyły jej za pastuch elektryczny. 

5. Wzbogacenia zawieszone na drzewach.

6. Kolejna rura, tym razem poziomo i obrotowo.

7. Umieszczony na poziomej belce bęben, zrobiony ze szpuli do nawijania kabli.

8. Wiszące łóżko.

9. I na koniec najlepsze wzbogacenie, duży naturalny wybieg!

Summary:

In the wild, brown bears spends most of their time searching for food, and travel long distances in this search. In order to provide the bears at the sanctuary in Poznan zoo with a similar routine, they are being fed in a special and enriched way. The food is being hidden in burrows, under stones, roots or spiked onto branches.

We also put some special objects and devices, partly made by ourselves, in order to encourage bears to search for food:

1) Hanging pipe with holes.

The pipe is hung between two trees at a height of about two meters. Simple sticks are pulled into the holes. Food is put above the sticks which need to be taken out by bears to release the food. Moreover, the pipe dangles when the bear wants to hold on it.

2) Food ball with mountain bracket,attached on chain to the tree.

The ball is filled with nuts or dry dog food. The bear needs to shake the ball to get the nuts out

3) Small plastic fresh food ball,sometimes hung on the tree.

4) Turning pipe with holes.

A plastic pipe attached to the tree on horizontal line. Pipe is filled with pieces of food.Pipe has to be turned around in order to let the food out.

5) Turning barrel.

Made of drum cable attached on horizontal pole (made of solid branch) around wchich it can be turned.

6) Swing.

Not for food hiding but just for FUN. It's made of branches attached to the tree on ropes.
